How to recharge your Nol card online

The RTA website and app only allow for a maximum top-up of Dh150. Here are the quick steps for recharging your card on the RTA website:

  2. Type in your email address and the Nol tag ID. Select the amount by clicking the captcha. These are your choices:
  • Dh30
  • Dh40
  • Dh50
  • Dh100
  • Dh150
  1. After that, select “Next” to accept the Terms and Conditions.
  2. Press the “Confirm” button.
  3. After that, you’ll be taken to a digital payment platform. You have the option of paying with a credit card, debit card, or even through net banking with the information from your UAE bank account.
  4. Next, input your card or bank account information, email address, and mobile number before clicking the “pay” option.
  5. After the transaction has been completed, you will get an email and SMS confirming that your Nol Card has been successfully recharged.

Through ‘RTA Dubai’ App

  1. Open the app after downloading it from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
  2. Locate the “Public Transportation Users” area by scrolling down and selecting the blue “top up” button.
  3. Type in your email address, choose the top-up amount, then enter the Nol tag ID.
  4. Then press the “pay” button. You can enter your credit card information or pay with Apple or Samsung Pay.

According to RTA, it will take 45 minutes to four hours for the balance to appear on the card after you have made the payment and got the SMS confirmation.

Swiping the Nol card on the Metro Gate will activate it. Once you tap the card on the Nol card reader, the remaining amount and any outstanding credit will be deducted.

Another choice is to enter the card into the slot for five to ten seconds at a public parking meter or at a top-up machine at a bus stop to activate the Nol card. It will take between 45 and 4 hours for the card to update with the balance.
