The developer said on Tuesday that Aldar Properties awarded 16 contracts worth more than Dh8.5 billion in 2021.
14 UAE-based contractors were awarded contracts in Abu Dhabi for infrastructure, residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects.
Aldar will deliver a range of residential units, retail spaces, mosques, new roads, landscaping, and renovation work under the contracts, which include projects within its own and managed portfolio.

“Furthermore, almost all products used by our partners are being sourced locally, which helps circulate additional money back into the local economy and helps mitigate supply chain issues. Our contribution will be further bolstered throughout 2022 as we press ahead with our plans to develop a broad suite of residential, commercial, educational, and retail offerings.”
New development project contracts have already been awarded to UAE-based businesses across two projects on Saadiyat Island in 2022, with additional development planned for the rest of the year.
