Starting on April 24, Dubai residents will be able to quickly verify the accuracy of real estate listings by simply scanning a QR code.

Through the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (Rera), the Dubai Land Department (DLD) announced in a circular that it has begun implementing the brand-new smart service known as Madmoun.

Any permit for a real estate advertisement must be granted with a QR code in accordance with Madmoun, which is accessible through the Trakheesi System.

All real estate agencies are required to start including the code on their print and audio-visual advertisements on April 24 so that clients can use the new service.

Residents can use DLD’s website to read all further information about the advertisement, including the condition and specs of the property, in addition to the QR code.

Marwan bin Ghalita, CEO of Rera at DLD, said: “The service aligns with DLD’s strategy to make Dubai ‘The World leader in Real Estate Investments’ by harnessing technology to develop real estate products according to the directives of the wise leadership. It also supports DLD’s mandate of achieving the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda ‘D33′ [which seeks to] to generate new economic value from digital transformation [and consolidate] Dubai’s position as a global capital of the digital economy.”
